Iranian Cinema Organization President Raed Faridzadeh has appointed Mohammad Hamidi Moghadam as director of the 20th Iran International Documentary Film Festival, known as Haqiqat (Cinema Vérité).
According to the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Cinema Organization, Faridzadeh issued a decree appointing Moghadam, managing director of the Documentary, Experimental and Animation Film Center (DEFC), as director of the festival’s 20th edition.
The decree reads:
“In recognition of your expertise, commitment, experience, and distinguished professional record, you are hereby appointed director of the 20th Iran International Documentary Film Festival, Haqiqat (Cinema Vérité).
As this major national and international event marks its 20th anniversary, its continuity and consolidation as a professional institution offer the prospect of a vibrant and successful edition through the cooperation of documentary film guilds, filmmakers, and professionals active in the field.
The aggression by the enemies of this homeland and the martyrdom of the nation’s wise and visionary Leader have further highlighted the indispensable role of Iranian documentary cinema in recording historic moments and documenting the events of the Ramadan War, as well as the perseverance and resilience of the great Iranian nation.
It is my hope that, with the assistance of Almighty God, your efforts and those of your valued colleagues, the support of the esteemed Policy Council, and the active participation of documentary filmmakers and artists, the 20th Iran International Documentary Film Festival, will leave a lasting legacy in our collective memory.”
