Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi, in an Eid al-Fitr message addressed to the culture ministers of Muslim countries, emphasized that the Iranian people remain steadfast in defending their faith, dignity, and independence.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Cinema Organization, citing the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Salehi’s message reads:
“I extend my congratulations to Your Excellency and to Muslim nations around the world on the arrival of Eid al-Fitr, the celebration of devotion and unity within the Islamic community.
We mark these blessed days at a time when the Iranian nation endured difficult yet honorable days during the holy month of Ramadan under the pressure of the brutal attacks carried out by the Israeli regime and the United States, while this savage aggression continues.
In this brutal war, innocent women, men, and children—including schoolchildren in Minab—are being unjustly killed, while residential areas and the cultural and historical heritage of our beloved country are being destroyed. Nevertheless, the Iranian people remain steadfast and continue to defend their faith, dignity, and independence.
Under these circumstances, the historical and moral responsibility of intellectuals, artists, and cultural leaders throughout the Islamic world is greater than ever. One of the fundamental teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets, is that remaining silent in the face of oppression amounts to supporting the oppressor.
Today, awakened consciences within the cultural and artistic communities of the Islamic world must convey to the international community the suffering of Iran and the resistance of other nations standing for justice.
May the cultural unity of the Islamic community be strengthened and the message of peace, justice, and human dignity spread throughout the world.”
