Iranian Cinema Organization President Raed Faridzadeh has announced three new appointments, naming new deputies for Evaluation and Supervision and Technology Development and Cinema Studies, as well as a Special Assistant and Secretary of the Specialized Working Group of the Cinema Council.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Cinema Organization, Faridzadeh appointed Seyyed Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabaeinejad as Deputy for Evaluation and Supervision, Rouhollah Hosseini as Deputy for Technology Development and Cinema Studies, and Alireza Esmaeili as Special Assistant and Secretary of the Specialized Working Group of the Cinema Council.
Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabaeinejad
Seyyed Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabaeinejad was born in Tehran in the Iranian year 1349 (1971). He holds a Ph.D. in Media Management and is a senior producer at Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.
His previous positions include Deputy for Evaluation and Supervision at the Iranian Cinema Organization; Director of the 39th National Fajr Film Festival; Managing Director of the Documentary and Experimental Film Center; Secretary of six editions of the Iran International Documentary Film Festival, Cinema Vérité; Chairman of the Artistic Evaluation Council for Cinema Artists; Acting Deputy for Technology Development and Cinema Studies at the Iranian Cinema Organization; and representative of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance at the Audio and Video Media Regulatory Authority (SATRA).
Rouhollah Hosseini
Seyyed Rouhollah Hosseini, formerly Deputy for Evaluation and Supervision and now Deputy for Technology Development and Cinema Studies, was born in Khomein in the Iranian year 1357 (1979).
He holds a Ph.D. in French Language and Literature from the University of Tehran and is an associate professor in the Department of European Studies at the university’s Faculty of World Studies.
At the University of Tehran, Hosseini has held a number of academic and executive positions, including Head of the Department of European Studies, Director of the Institute for North American and European Studies, and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of World Studies.
He has also been recognized at various times as a distinguished professor at the University of Tehran, an outstanding professor in international affairs by the University of Tehran and Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and an outstanding deputy for academic affairs.
At the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Hosseini has served as Director General of the Office of Cinema Studies and Knowledge, Chairman of the Festival Council of the Iranian Cinema Organization, Director General of International Affairs and Festivals at the Iranian Cinema Organization, and as a founding member, Secretary of the Academic Council, and Managing Director of the Iranian National School of Cinema. He has also served as Secretary of the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival.
His professional record also includes translation, writing, and the publication of articles, fiction, and poetry.
Alireza Esmaeili
Alireza Esmaeili, who previously served as Deputy for Technology Development and Cinema Studies at the Iranian Cinema Organization, was born in Qazvin in the Iranian year 1347 (1969).
He holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Policy from the Institute for Cultural and Social Studies of Iran’s Ministry of Science.
An academic with an extensive record of research and publications in Iran and abroad, Esmaeili has previously served as Assistant to the President and Director General of the President’s Office at the Iranian Cinema Organization; Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Spain and Italy; Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Hamedan Province; and Director General for European and American Cultural Affairs at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.
